The Lakewood Club's professional-quality tennis facility is designed to be enjoyed by players of all ages and skill levels. Our outstanding Lakewood staff makes improving your game fun with adult and children clinics as well as private lessons. An active schedule featuring league play, USTA tournament play, and social round-robins gives everyone an opportunity to be a part of The Lakewood Club Tennis community. Due to the mild year-round climate, there is simply no setting more naturally beautiful in which to enjoy tennis.

MEET THE PROS
BRIAN JORDAN (Director of Tennis) is a PTR Certified Professional. A former collegiate coach, he has been a tennis professional for over 25 years. He is an active tournament player on the Southern Level and has won seventy-eight singles titles. Brian has been ranked #1 in the state in various age groups.
MATT MCKELVAIN began his tennis career early and was ranked #1 in Alabama Boy’s age groups: 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18. He also captured the #1 ranking in the South in the Boy’s 18 age group. Matt has played with Courier, Agassi, and Sampras in Junior Tournaments. He then went on to play tennis for both Auburn University at Montgomery and the University of Alabama. For 30 years, coaching tennis has been Matt’s passion.
BUTCH RUSSELL Energetic Tennis Professional, Butch Russell, is a certified member of the Professional Tennis Registry since 1992. For 30 years, he has been coaching all age levels from beginner to advanced tournament players. Included in Butch’s accolades are several State and Southern rankings in the 35-50 age groups.
CRANE DURHAM began playing tennis from an early age in St. Louis, Missouri. His enthusiasm, drive, intensity, and commitment to excellence have served him well. He walked on The University of Mississippi tennis team, worked many years as a tennis pro, and then served as the Head Coach for Washington University in St. Louis. After leading the team to the NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament, Crane stepped aside from coaching but continued to play as he spent the next 15 years as a nationally syndicated radio host with his show, Nothing But Truth®. In 2017, Crane returned to his first passion of coaching and teaching tennis. He has developed some of St. Louis‘s top players and has worked with every level of juniors and adults.
